Nordost Valhalla XLR

Valhalla interconnect cable from Nordost makes the most neutral cable connection ever developed. If you want to hear transparency and musical detail with the most extreme accuracy that your system is capable of producing, Valhalla is the only choice. Valhalla has raised the standard of interconnect design to new heights. This is truly the extreme reference cable. The Valhalla interconnect consists of 8 conductors made from solid, optimized diameter 99.999999% oxygen free copper that has 78 microns of extruded silver on the surface. The surface of each conductor is highly polished before a high precision Micro Mono-Filament wrap is applied. The Micro Mono-Filament is helically wound over the conductor. A precision FEP tube is then extruded over each conductor. The eight FEP tubes are then bonded with a proprietary technique. A dual layer of silver served shielding is then wound around the assembly. This design reduces dielectric contact by more than 80%. Extremely mechanically stable, the conductors are effectively suspended in inert air, preventing oxidation. Valhalla interconnect is extremely fast at over 87% the speed of light. When it comes to transmitting wide bandwidth at incredible speed this cable is state of the art. This gives incredible transient response so that no musical detail is lost. This allows one to follow complex and difficult recordings with ease. Valhalla is ideal for use with SACD and other high resolution music formats. Each Valhalla interconnect cable is hand built with “Profi” RCA phono plugs or gold XLR connectors. The connectors used are selected for their sonic properties and minimal effect on signal speed and coherence.

Micro Mono-Filament Technology The surface of each conductor is highly polished before a precision Micro Mono-Filament is wrapped around it. Using a precision twisted FEP Mono-Filament thread which is drawn around the conductor in a helix pattern, insulation contact with the conductor is reduced by more than 80%. A precisely spaced and extremely concentric FEP jacket is then extruded over each conductor.This design reduces dielectric contact by more than 80%. No Filtering The cable has an effective dielectric constant of 1.38, which is incredibly low, the reference point being air or vacuum, which has a dielectric constant of 1. The reduction of insulation contact by more than 80% means that the current and voltage travelling above the surface of the conductor are virtually unimpeded by the insulation material. The result is a cable that allows every transient detail of the musical signal to shine through without being filtered or rolled off. Very High Signal Speed This interconnect has a very high signal speed of over 87% the speed of light which reduces phase shifting and timing errors to very low levels. The incredible transient response of VALKYRJA means that no musical detail is lost and that complex passages of music and difficult recordings can be followed with ease. Terminations Each VALKYRJA interconnect cable is hand built in our factory in the USA and is available with Nordost MoonGlo ground before signal RCA phono plugs. The connectors used are selected for their sonic properties which have minimal effect on the signal.
